I’m currently sitting in my kitchen drinking a glass of wine while I write this, but I spent the last week enjoying the sun and shore of Corolla Beach in the Outer Banks.
Actually, we got back Saturday evening (we drove the 400+ miles each way), went to a friend’s BBQ/pool party on Sunday, and today I’ve been focusing on getting things done around the house.
I really needed this vacation as I’ve been feeling very run down lately. The stress of my mom’s death in July and some other personal things had gotten me very stressed and I needed some time to decompress.
It was our first trip to the Outer Banks and I can honestly say I can’t wait to go back. The beach was beautiful and so was the house we rented. We went out to dinner twice and both meals were delicious, and the other nights we cooked at home.
The one complaint I had was due to mother nature. Some storms offshore caused some dangerous rip currents. Swimming was prohibited almost the entire week and we didn’t really get into the water until our last day.
My sister and her family spent half the week with us too and they missed out on the ocean altogether so I guess I shouldn’t complain too much!
Now that I’m back and feeling re-energized, I’m ready to come back to blogging with a vengeance!
Being away has made me realize that I have been spreading myself too thin and yet not dedicating myself fully to building this blog to its full potential. I have a whole list of tasks I need to take care of on the back-end, plus I want to increase the number of articles I’m pumping out. I also need to spend more time networking with fellow bloggers and writing some guest posts on other blogs. I had some nice successes with that strategy in the past but I let it slip away out of my own laziness.
Anyway, that’s about all I have for today. Stay tuned for more updates and make sure you follow me on Twitter so you don’t miss a thing!
