Football fans nationwide will be huddled around their TVs tonight as the San Francisco 49ers take on the Baltimore Ravens in Super Bowl XLVII.
I don’t really have stakes in either team this year so I’m just rooting for an exciting game. I’m also looking forward to the Super Bowl commercials. This years crop of ads cost up to $4 million each. It’s always fun to see which ads resonate with viewers and which are quickly forgotten.
Of course, the Super Bowl is a financial bonanza for more than just advertising companies and television networks. According to this infographic from Turbotax, Americans will spend over a billion dollars on Super Bowl snacks such as potato chips, pretzels, popcorn and corn chips.
Super Bowl Sunday is also a big day for many local bars and pizzerias who may see their business doubled thanks to the football festivities.
For those of you who couldn’t care less about football, here are some great articles I’ve read recently. Enjoy them instead of the game…
