There’s a reason why department stores are willing to give you a discount if you open up a store credit card…they know you’re likely to carry a balance and they’ll get to charge you heft finance charges on that balance.
As you walk to the door laughing about your 10 percent savings, they’re reaching into your back pocket and fleecing you of way more than that.
If you’re going to sign up for the store card to get your savings, you’d better be credit card savvy and pay off the balance in full every month.
