Do you ever notice “Help Wanted” signs as you walk down the street or run errands? Even if you’re not looking for a new job, those signs can still earn you money through the Job Spotter app.
All you need to do is snap a picture of the Help Wanted sign and the storefront and submit it via your smartphone.
As soon as your submission is approved, you get paid.
As out Job Spotter review will show you, It really is that simple.
What Is Job Spotter?
Job Spotter is a smartphone app released by Indeed, one of the largest job search engines in the world.
Indeed allows job hunters to search through millions of job listings posted online by businesses that are hiring.
But many small businesses don’t even bother posting their job openings online. They just slap a Help Wanted sign in the window and call it a day.
The problem is not many people will actually see the sign. You might be the perfect fit for the job but unless you happen to walk by and see it you’ll never even know it’s available.
That’s where Job Spotter comes in. The app uses the power of crowd sourcing to find Help Wanted signs and post them online so many more job seekers will see them.
Whenever I see a hiring sign hanging in a store window I whip out my iPhone.
How Much Can You Make With The Indeed Job Spotter App?
Let me make this clear: you will not get rich taking pictures of Help Wanted signs and submitting them to Job Spotter.
But you can earn some extra money with almost no work at all.
As you can see from the screenshot below, each of my submissions earned me anywhere from 32 to 107 points. Each point is worth a cool penny toward an Amazon gift card, so that’s $3.98 in my pocket with absolutely no effort at all.
Obviously, that 4 bucks isn’t going to change my life.
But we’re on a mission to diversify our income and create multiple streams of revenue, and every little bit helps.
That said, I don’t intend to spend a lot of time or effort using Job Spotter and I wouldn’t recommend you do that either.
I certainly wouldn’t go driving around searching for businesses that were hiring. I have neither the free time or extra gas money to spare and quite frankly the payout just isn’t worth it all that work.
All I do is keep an eye out for Help Wanted signs as I’m running errands and going about my business. You’d be surprised how many there are! Since I downloaded the app I’m averaging between $5 and $10 every single month.
What Happens After You Submit A Hiring Sign To Job Spotter?
It takes anywhere from a few minutes to several hours for your submission to be approved. When I first started using the app it would sometimes take a couple of days and that was kind of annoying, but they have so much faster since then.
Once it is approved you’ll see the status change from Pending Approval to Approved and you’ll also see how many points the submission earned.
The screenshot below shows the details on one of my recent approved submissions:
You never really know how many points each submission is going to earn you. The Job Spotter FAQs say that the points you earn are determined by some computer algorithm but they don’t really go into detail.
The most I have received was $1.36 for a small, local restaurant. The least I have earned is a measly five cents from the dollar store.
One thing I really like is that there is no minimum threshold needed to request payment. Even if you only have a dollar or two in your account you can request a distribution and receive an Amazon gift card code in no time.
Approved submissions get posted right on Indeed.com where job seekers can search and find them. Below is one of the listings I submitted.
Earn More By Verifying Submissions
In addition to taking your own pictures of hiring signs, you can also earn extra money by verifying photos submitted by other users.
As you can see from the screenshot below, all you have to do is review a photo submission and verify if it is good or not. A bar up top tracks your progress and each time you reach 100 percent you get ten cents.
Obviously that’s not a lot of money but it takes only a second or two to review each photo, so it is pretty easy to earn some quick money.
I wouldn’t recommend spending hours reviewing photos for such a measly payout, but it is handy to pop on and earn some quick cash when you have a few minutes to spare.
Waiting in the doctor’s office or for my daughter’s girl scout meeting to end are perfect times for me to verify some submissions and earn a quick buck or two.
Job Spotter is a neat app that is worth keeping handy in case you come across a small business that is hiring.
You can submit a sign in less than a minute and it’s awesome to get paid for doing something so simple.
Plus, you’re helping people find jobs so they can support their families and that’s pretty awesome too.
Have you ever used the Indeed Job Spotter app? What kind of experience did you have with it?
