A Sci-fi thriller/mystery that I just couldn’t put down, The Fold draws you in and won’t let you out.
Mike Erikson is a genius with an eidetic memory who lives in Maine and works as a teacher. One day his longtime friend convinces him to check out a top secret government project called the Albuquerque Door, a portal that folds space and allows people to instantly jump from one place to another.
The device will revolutionize the world. But something is very wrong and everyone seems to be hiding something. Does the Door really work the way its creators say? Mike’s job is to get to the bottom of things and find out the truth.
I’m a bit of a science geek and I was able to guess at one major plot twist pretty early on, but that didn’t keep me from enjoying the story. The author drops small clues throughout so pay close attention.
You know you’ve gotten pulled in when you finish each chapter and think to yourself, “Just one more chapter..I can’t stop now!” This was the first book I’ve read by Peter Clines but now I have to check out the rest of his work to see if they are just as enjoyable.
