Savvy consumers are always on the lookout for the best deal possible and they hate when they don’t get the most bang for their buck.
Few things are as frustrating as getting less than you paid for. I could scream when I open up a family-sized package of chicken breast from the supermarket only to find a bunch of fat and gristle carefully hidden beneath what looks like nice, lean breasts.
Or how about when manufacturers reduce the amount you get in a package but leave the price the same?
Whenever a disconnect occurs between what a consumer is paying for and what he or she actually gets, it is almost always a case of the consumer getting less than they are expecting. Somehow we always seem to end up on the short end of things don’t we?
Well believe it or not I’ve stumbled on to one area where consumers like you and me actually get more than they pay for…Verizon Fios internet speed.
When it comes to internet connections, speed is what matters most. A slow connection means you’re stuck waiting forever downloading files or uploading images. And don’t even think about streaming live video without a speedy connection…no one wants to deal with video that freezes or keeps pausing to buffer.
Some internet providers advertise lightning fast speeds but those are really the maximum speeds you can expect. Most of the time your actual speeds are lower than advertised. What a ripoff!
But I have Verizon Fios and they actually provide speeds faster than what I’m paying for!
My package includes Fios Internet with 50/50 Mbps. Without getting technical that means both my downloads (web browsing or streaming movies and music) and my uploads (saving family pictures to the cloud) should be at the same speed of 50 Mbps.
But in reality I actually get both downloads and uploads at faster rates than what I’m paying for! I used three different independent bandwith test sites and all of them showed that my download speed comes in at a bit below 57 Mbps and my uploads are even faster at about 64 Mbps. Check out the screenshots below for proof:
If you do the math you’ll see that my download speed is 14 percent higher than what I’m paying for and my upload speed is 28 percent higher!
In a world where consumers are constantly getting ripped off and getting less than what they paid for, it’s great to see an example of a company actually providing more value to their customers.
